T. Michael Barclay's "Asylum Earth" takes a slightly different look at people, places and events that shape the planet we are confined to. It's overwhelming evidence that the patients are indeed running the asylum.

WHAT, ME RESPONSIBLE?

Or . . . They Got Their Value System From The Dog:

As I now understand it, if a child of mine kills someone, or someone kills a child of mine, it is President Bushes fault, right? I know I’m from East Texas and you sometimes have to say it twice and slow to get me to understand, but the gist of what I am hearing is that, save for Donald Rumsfeld, George W. Bush is responsible for pretty much any act of atrocity, no matter who does it or where it is done. I don’t know about anyone else, but as a parent that takes a big load off my mind.

Somewhere I had gotten the impression that my wife and I were responsible for giving our children a moral compass in which to navigate their relationship with other fellow humans. I must have also been mistaken when I thought that it was our responsibility to teach them the difference between right and wrong and to provide them with the knowledge to be able to make intelligent decisions about the risk and rewards of their choices. It appears that I was wrong and that we have absolutely no responsibility regarding their actions, unless of course they receive a Nobel Prize and then my wife and I are heralded as the perfect parents. Otherwise, it’s Donald and George’s fault.

If one of my children hijacks an airliner and flies it into a building, killing thousands of people, there is nothing about his/her upbringing that could possibly be considered part of the problem, Donald and George should have kept a closer eye on my children. What were they thinking about? How in the world would anyone think that I would be aware that my sons or daughters were being trained as a terrorists or building weapons of mass destructions in our garage? Hey, we got them to 18 years of age, its Donald and George’s problem from there on.

If one or more of my children join the military and commit acts of extreme stupidity, not to mention egregious acts against other human beings, it would be equally as stupid to think that anyone other than Donald and George would be held accountable, after all, they had the hands-on interpersonal relationship with them all of their lives, not me or their Mother! How would we be expected to know that they had the moral fiber of a dog in heat? Where were Donald and George when their propensity for destructive behavior manifested itself? When they couldn’t find employment, thanks of course to George, or fit in with society in general, we pushed them in the direction of the military, because teaching them how to act like rational, normal human beings is Donald’s responsibility, not ours!

Let’s say, for conversation sake, that one of our children decides to travel to the single most hostile area on earth and stick his/her nose in places they have absolutely no reason to, and the result of this action is that they get killed. How, by any stretch of the imagination, could you not see the direct responsibility of the Commander in Chief and Secretary of Defense in allowing that person to make those kinds of decisions without careful personal consultation, you know, the kind families have? Forget for a moment that my child had no remote connection with the military or any government authorized contractor working in the area, Donald and George, as everyone is aware, are responsible for every human, regardless of their affiliation, in the area. And, if you haven’t noticed, that means ours and our enemies’ children.

The bottom line is that we are only responsible for procreating our children, not preparing them for life and certainly not responsible for any of their actions as a result of the environment in which they were raised. Donald and George have simply let us down and must now be dealt with at the ballot box. If never before I can now see the reason to amend the Constitution to allow for the President to serve more than two terms. With any luck we might be able to get Bill back in office and straighten the whole mess out once and for all.
